Google Fiber in Green County?   2/26/2010 11:46:59 AM
Why should Google build a fiber to the home network in Green County? Learn more about the initiative here in Green County here

http://www.greencountyspotlight.com/Broadband.

Anyone can additionally weigh in on the idea here

http://www.greencountyspotlight.com/Community-Broadband-Initiative.aspx

A government response to Google's request for information is being compiled in Monroe as we speak. Now we need community members to step up and add their voices to the discuss and let Google know why we are a good candidate for such a venture. Comments here in the forums are (of course) also very welcome.

Thanks all. Have a great day.

Life in a Farming Community - the Book   2/20/2010 12:51:23 AM
Has anyone seen the New book "Life in a Farming Community" which features Monticello, WI? The village of Monticello is famous for its dairy farming and cheese. The community is still largely based on this. It has a population of about 1,200 people and is the focus of this book about life in a farming community.-Crabtree Publishing Company. If you've seen it please tell me what you think. I have some photos published in it! Woohoo I've finally published some of my work! (Richard did too!)Applause

Is Judge Vale a good judge or a bad judge?   2/3/2010 3:22:55 AM
Maybe Judge Vale should have talked to his law partner. I did. I spoke with him about a year and a half ago as I mulled over a harassment lawsuit against a number of individuals. He only objected to my insistence on suing the police for misconduct. The potential lawsuit ran aground on police refusal to turn over the names of witnesses to the many incidents. I filed at least one complaint against the woman who filed the TRO, accusing her of criminal trespass and property destruction, many years ago. This is the same woman who has now admitted under oath to asking the police permission to trespass on my property to remove a sign to which she objected. Apparently she doesn't know that the police can't give people permission to trespass and steal.

Is Judge Vale a good judge or a bad judge?   1/3/2010 10:19:20 PM
This is a true story. The main witness at my TRO (temporary restraining order) hearing admitted under oath that she had asked the police for permission to enter my property to take down a sign she didn't like. I have complained for years to the police that I believed she was entering my property, and destroying my property. It turns out, she asked their permission to enter my property to take my property. This is a witness the judge found credible. And it never occurred to the police to ask her if she already had entered my property before. By the way, she admitted to trespassing on my property before, under oath. This is a person claiming I am stalking her; she asked the police for permission to enter my property to take my property, under oath, and the judge found her credible.

Standing in the middle of County NN   1/3/2010 12:29:48 PM
Found several more loose dog tracks, obvious marking and evidence of another animal attack less than a hundred feet from south-western park boundary, less than four hundred feet from public trail, and one hundred foot south on the south-central boundary of my property at 5603 County Highway NN; other trails into the park from same area may be loose dog tracks.

Standing in the middle of County NN   1/3/2010 10:37:38 AM
A rabbit was attacked and mutilated by a large dog on the parcel opposite W5603 Highway NN, (my house), sometime on New Year's Day, give or take 24 hours. The dog's tracks led directly to a badly mutilated animal on private land, then straight off and back to NN. Anyone walking in the area who witnessed an animal attack or a large dog running loose inside the right of way, please contact the Park Ranger or County Police, and be cautious with children in the vicinity of the park.

Green County taxes   12/30/2009 5:12:27 PM
I heard on the news the other night Green county had the largest property tax increase of any county in Wisconsin. Why? I don't see why we should pay any more than we do now. Services have not increased. In fact in Washington Township our ambulance service has actually been reduced.

I have a unique situation in that I live and work in Minnesota part of the time. My house in Minnesota costs me $2500 in taxes annually. Included in that is ....Full time Police protection, full time fire protection, city sewer, city water, bus service, garbage collection, All that in addition to the services that are offered to me here in Green county. I would value the houses in both location about the same. YET! my taxes are nearly DOUBLE in Green county than they are in Minnesota. What gives? This is a terrible deal. Green county residents are totally getting ripped off with the high rate of taxation here.

Is Judge Vale a good judge or a bad judge?   12/15/2009 12:44:04 AM
He ordered my shotgun confiscated in a TRO hearing because I had posted a loose dogs will be shot sign in an area where people are always leaving large, aggressive dogs loose. Hasn't this guy heard of the NRA?

Loose dogs   12/14/2009 11:08:52 PM
Should the county sheriff allow all dog owners one freebie on dog-at-large as is currently the case? Has anybody suffered under a dog attack? Did you meet the owner?

Is Judge Vale a good judge or a bad judge?   12/14/2009 9:26:47 PM
I just lost a hearing in his court room, though I was innocent of the accusations made. But I"m not posting this to argue my case one way or another. I'm just saying in my experience he could not tell the innocent from the guilty, a lie from the truth, concerning for a judge. So I'm opening it up. Who thinks he's a good judge? Who thinks he's a bad judge? Does he know innocence from guilt? C'mon now. Let it out. I won't tell. And lawyers, chime in please, anonymously of course. I'm glad I supported Dan Gartzke.

Happy Birthday Sweet Polly   12/4/2009 6:47:01 AM
Seems the forums need a little change of pace these days and what better excuse than to take this opportunity to wish my one-and-only a delectable Happy Birthday. So, sleep in mon Dieu. Wonderful things await but no need to rush the day. Have pretty dreams for as long as you like. I'll be waiting for you on this side of your eyelids when they open to this glorious day. I love you. Happy Birthday sweet.

Richard

Standing in the middle of County NN   12/2/2009 3:15:17 AM
Now Deputy Brad Gilbertson, preceded by Deputy Steve Hoesly, says I can't write the names of the loitering obstructers on the side of my barn, even though my chief complaint is that they spend way weird too much time up there. It's like it's their favorite place. It's a decrepit barn that even the horse complains about, and he never complains.

Funny thing about that woman; she spoke out in favor of closing county NN because of her concern for the safety of children. Yet she stands in the middle of the road when there is traffic, and talks with every minor acquaintance who drops by, while they park in the middle of the road. That's not very safe if you ask me, and a touch hypocritical, perhaps.

okay, now mom and daughter are standing in the road one hundred feet west of barn and Kennebec Lane, conversing with idiot daughter's husband, who has to speak with his wife for a long time just four blocks from home, in the road, creating a hazard and breaking the law; obstructing traffic, creating a hazard, parking on a county road. I guess it's the Twilight Zone where traffic laws don't matter, forget about manners or common sense.
